| The Barstow House 1888 is not just about a bed and breakfast stay. Bring your friends or family to tea for a very special afternoon. No matter who you bring, the tradition of afternoon tea takes you back in time, giving you a chance to spend a relaxing hour or two with those you care about. Take time to talk, laugh, remember. We will do our best to pamper you! We serve tea on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from September through June and any day of the week during July and August. (Please call ahead and tell us when you would like to come; we want to do our best for you!) Not sure which teas you would like? How about a "tea-tasting" to help you decide? You may choose several teas to enjoy with your choice of tea sandwiches followed by our homemade cream scones with lemon curd or Devonshire Cream. Your final course will be a specialty dessert of your choice. You may prefer a “sit down” afternoon tea, or a traditional “low tea” (which refers to service from a “low” table such as a coffee table). Whichever you prefer, we will do our best to help you and your friends or family enjoy a relaxing and time honored tradition. Look over the menus to the right and below. | Homemade Cream Scones Not all scones are "created equal." If you have never had a homemade cream scone, you are in for a treat. Nothing goes so well with a cup of tea. Our cranberry or blueberry scones are served with jam, lemon curd and Devonshire cream.
